MODULE DESCRIPTION: Is it possible to build a machine that is intelligent? That can think? This module begins with the question of intelligence, and starts its inquiry with an AI program named Larry Learner. Larry is a program that plays the game "Last one loses." It plays the game pretty well. Does that mean it is intelligent? The vast majority of people answer, "No." But Larry has some surprises up his sleeve. These surprises should help inspire some fruitful discussions about the nature of intelligence and the possibility of creating a machine that is intelligent.
